Suicide bombers attack MTN, Airtel Kano offices

The Joint Task Force on Saturday said two suicide bombers died in coordinated attacks on MTN and Airtel offices.
An online news portal, Premium Times, reports that the two attacks occurred within five minutes indicating a coordinated effort.

Buhari loses 40-year-old daughter to sickle cell




Zulai, the first daughter of former  Head of State and a former presidential candidate, Maj-Gen Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), is dead.
She died on  Thursday evening after delivering a baby in Nasara Hospital,Marafa Estate in Kaduna.

Former Nigeria national team coach, Clemens Westerhof has revealed that players bribed their way into the national team in the past.
Westerhof, who coached Nigeria to success at the 1994 Africa Cup of Nations in Tunisia and also led the Super Eagles to their first-ever Fifa World Cup in the United States in 1994, said the players who did not merit a place in the national team got call-ups after giving money to the selectors.

NDLEA arrests student with 1.535kg cocaine


  Operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, yesterday arrested a 23 years old student of Management Accounting at Waltham College, London Mr. Chiwuzie Godson Chiedozie in an attempt to smuggle about 1.535 kilogrammes of cocaine through the Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA), Lagos.

A 46-year-old housewife, Malama Delu Alhaji-Ali, of Unguwar Namanda village, Faskari Local Government Area of Katsina State, on Saturday gave birth to a set of triplets in her 12th consecutive childbirths.
News Agency of Nigeria correspondent who visited the area, reports that the woman was delivered of the triplets at the Comprehensive Health Care Centre in Faskari.

A BOMB explosion at a Catholic Church in Malali, Kaduna State   claimed 15 lives and injured 100 people yesterday.
But the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) put the casualty figure at eight.
The spokesperson of the agency Yushau Shuaib, said: “NEMA rescuers in collaboration with stakeholders have so far confirmed eight dead and over 100 people injured from the bomb explosion.”
